President's Message


Hello, Greater Philadelphia Chapter Members!


I want to take this time to wish you all a Happy and Safe Holiday Season! At this time of year we are extremely busy, but I would like for you all to reflect back on 2011 and hopefully be able to determine at least one of your major accomplishments. For me, this past half year I have had the opportunity to meet many of our Chapter Members and gain knowledge and wisdom about IFMA in general.  Thanks to the Past Presidents, Board Members, and all who have either shown up at an event, or e-mailed me.  I am here to serve and am looking forward to meeting some members who were not able to attend a 2011 event.


Our first Holiday Event at the Comcast Center was a terrific evening. I am happy to report – for those who were not able to attend – that the Toys for Tots bins were overflowing. I am pleased that our IFMA Members could provide some joy to young persons this Holiday Season.  Now, for the Comcast Center – incredible views of the City, great atmosphere, good food and drink, and a facility that clearly must be seen. Who could ask for a better event location?  Many thanks to our Program Committee, especially Marcella Garwood and Steve Sable on getting this event together as we have been talking for a long time about having an event at the Comcast Center.


If you have not had the opportunity to attend one of our events, it is never too late. Our calendar is a good source to determine what event is right for you. Although our website is in the “transition phase,” it is still a good resource for review. Check out  http://www.ifmaphilly.org.  I am sure that once completed, you will find our website’s “look” to be new and refreshing.


I look forward to 2012 and the upcoming years with IFMA. In 2013, World Work Place will be in Philadelphia and it’s our goal as a Chapter to make this one of the biggest and best WWP’s in history. Hopefully you will be a part of this event.  Happy Holidays!
