Winter Social Sponsors Project HOME -- January, 2015

It's a story of one man's life on the streets of Philadelphia and how he changed all that. Read that story now. Project HOME began in 1989 as a refuge for men living on the streets.  It has expanded to offer "Housing Opportunities Medical Education"ProjectHOMELogo as a "non-profit organization empowering individuals to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through affordable housing, employment, health care, and education."

Because of its far-reaching and dramatic efforts in the city, Project HOME was selected by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of IFMA for its annual social and fundraiser. Held on Thursday, January 22 at the Great American Pub Ballroom in Conshohocken, IFMA Philly collected 66 jackets and coats , two scarves and two hats -- one with matching Spiderman gloves! -- and $325 cash.  Thanks to all who contributed and attended.

Mini-World Workplace 2014

by Jamie Moore,
Special to IFMAPhilly.org

The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of IFMA hosted the annual Mini-World Workplace. Although this event is described as ‘mini’ to differentiate it from its international cousin, the Philadelphia event is by no means small.  Following the success of last year’s local event, a few changes to the past winning structure and activity formulas proved to be gold medal decisions.

First, a return to Harrah’s Casino and Racetrack in Philadelphia after several years at other venues lured members, affiliates and sponsors back to this established gaming and conference center. Second, the addition of two educational sessions was a huge draw and brought us closer to the International World Workplace Conference & Expo format.
