President's Message May-June, 2009

 

The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of IFMA:

Providing Members with Continual Growth and Development Opportunities

 

Kristin Liezenga, FMPIt is hard to believe that a year has passed and I am writing my last president’s message. I have enjoyed working with the Board of Directors, along with getting to know many of the Chapter members. I value all the support and feedback that I received in our efforts to make this Chapter the best it can be for the members.

 

I am excited to announce the new Board of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of IFMA. The Board will be led by Dale Wenger, who will be the President of our Chapter; Andrew Hunsicker, will take over as Vice President, and Janet Collins will hand the reigns of Program Chair to Jamie Moore, and Janet will take on the role of Treasurer. These individuals, along with John Mervin - Membership Chair, Bob Heist - Retention Chair, Barbara Wojonowski - Communication Chair, and Brian Philip - Education Chair, round out the outstanding Board of Director’s team. Kevin O’Toole, after five dedicated years, will be completing his role on the Board of Directors. Kevin has joined the Sustainability Committee for IFMA International and will continue to be involved with IFMA on many levels.

  Serve as the resource and representative for facility management in the Greater Philadelphia region. City Hall

 

Long-Term Stakeholder Value:

  Chapter Goal:  Increase membership by 20%

 

Our Mission:

  Advance the facility management profession in the Philadelphia region by providing exceptional services, products, resources and opportunities.

 

Our Plan:

  Our Strategic Plan is closely aligned with that of IFMA.

 

  1. Stakeholder Perspective
        • Increase membership through marketing to a target audience (membership)
        • Increase professional member attendance at programs (program) 
        • Increase annual program attendance to net 1,100 (program)
        • Awards of Excellence - website (communication)
  2. Learning and Growth Perspective
        • Support the future of the profession (education)
        • Increase new member engagement (membership)
        • Increase number of programs this year - 12 (program)
        • Enhance professional development (education)
        • Achieve 90% retention (retention)

        • Act upon Voice of the Membership (operational excellence)
        • Continued and enhanced communications to the members (program)
        • Create a formal succession plan (operational excellence)
