The leading professional organization of the field, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), has established guidelines for facilities management training in their Standards for Recognized Programs. University College of Widener University, in response to these standards, has developed a minor or stand-alone certificate program that meets the recognized standards of education.

Widener’s University College offers the Facility Management minor as part of the Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies. The for-credit certificate program can be utilized as part of a current working manager’s professional development plan. The courses will be offered online through University College’s distance learning program.
