President's Message September-October, 2009 Looking forward to an exciting year with the
Greater Philadelphia Chapter of IFMA!Providing Members with Continual Growth and Development Opportunities  I hope everyone enjoyed their summer. Over the summer months, the Board continued to meet to develop the strategic plan for the upcoming year. In May of this year, the Board was afforded the opportunity to attend a Chapter Leadership Conference sponsored and conducted by IFMA International. One of the areas of focus during the conference was how local chapters could work to enhance the member experience. The primary focus of our summertime Board meetings has been discussing ways in which we can incorporate these ideas into the fabric of our chapter. As a leadership team, we want to ensure that we are continually striving to provide excellent value for your membership dollar. You will be hearing more as our ideas mature.
There are many opportunities to volunteer to help support our Chapter activities. In this age of instant communication, we are finding ourselves even more challenged as a Chapter to ensure that we are using the various "high tech" forms of communication to reach our membership. If you have expertise in social networking, You Tube, or other web communication tools please reach out to me.
The Chapter continues to stay active on the program front with the Golf outing at Northampton Valley Country Club and the Mini World Work Place event at Harrah's Chester Casino – both events occurring in September. Please be sure to make every effort to attend these events. We believe that by continuing to improve and expand upon membership benefits, the Greater Philadelphia Chapter will grow and be able to offer new and valuable knowledge and experiences to our members. IFMA International will also be hosting World Workplace (WWP) in Orlando, FL from October 7 – 9, 2009. As a way of bringing our membership together, we are posting all registered attendees on our website. Hope to see you this year at World Workplace 2009. On a personal note, I have found this conference to be source of valuable information that I have been able to apply to aid me in accomplishing my day-to-day responsibilities. If you have never attended WWP, or if you haven't been there in a few years, do yourself and your employer a favor, and attend this year's conference.
